and so i had two trips back to back. First in Kuching and that was a good, fruitful one. i had a 1 day break in LD and whoosh, the Kundasang trip!

we left home at about 6.30am.
the drive was very nice, despite the many crazy potholes.
we talked. we talked nonsense. we complained. we sang.

you'll definitely pass by the entrance to this plantation.
i have always wanted to take picture of the flowers with the clear blue sky.
it makes me feel as if i'm in another country.

We reached Kundasang at about 11.30am and went in to Kinabalu Park. we spent some good hours in the park.

The next morning, we went for sunrise and then the COW PLACE!!

I guess one of the beautiful surprises is the visit to Mahua Waterfall in Tambunan. The winding road into the park is kind of scary but it's good that we didn't turn back halfway. The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful.

and we found a huge pill milipede.

Our journey continued in Sandakan and we went to Labuk Bay. Not to forget the seafood breakfast at Sim Sim.

i'm back from The LAB Tour

it was an awesome weekend. the super long hours of train ride. the rain. the walking around. the big B's..

we had 3 SLRs, 2 DSLRs, and an iphone, oh, and my K770i. and a super big amount of pictures taken over the trip. not too many jimo pictures though. the jimo-ness somehow slipped away from me during LAB tour. whatever.

i am quite lazy to form proper sentences, so, phrases will do. :)

the AWESOME Good Ipoh Food Trip

the weekend bah..

there are many cats in my school compound, including the school canteen.
the cats will wait for you to finish your meal.. and once you get up from your seat, they will pounce onto the table and start their great banquet.

the cat pic was taken on last saturday, during the lunch break.
this is one of the super rare moments.. the cat was on the table, holding to the fish bone for quite a while and i happened to have my canon baby with me.

last weekend - it was quite happening. i attended a Maths workshop for the form5 students on the whole of Saturday, morning til night. And in the afternoon, a group of Japanese students came to my school. It's a stop for them before heading to Danum Valley.

Then on Sunday evening, i attended LD's first 'Professionals of Today' meeting. i met up with a few teachers teaching in schools around LD and a pharmacist working in the hospital.

This is random. i just want to show you some giant squids. They are bigger than the Dolmio 560g pasta sauce bottle. They are really huge.... and look at their eyes! :P

oh that's Tawau ;)

I went for a one day trip to Tawau with 3 friends. It's about 2.5 hours drive away. We actually have not idea how the road is like, neither have we been there. The other two friends went there before but they are not too sure with the directions as well. I drove from LD to Tawau while my friend, J, drove from Tawau back to LD. There's lots and lots of oil palm plantations along the way, snake-liked roads which go uphill and downhill, pretty light traffic (ok, got some slow moving lorries once in a while, a skilled driver like me can't be beaten by that!). The sun shone brightly in the blue sky and everywhere you see green. It was a nice drive, i must say! ;)

We were there for about 7 hours - a colleague from Tawau brought us to go around here and there. We went to the seaside, market, Servay, Giant... I guess it was a good break from the LD life although it's just for a few hours.

School is starting on monday and a string of events is going to unfold. Come what may!

OK, it's going to be 10 weeks of craziness and insanity and stress, and soon it will be intensified to hundred folds by the longing to be home. hahaha. Minus the exam weeks, i'll only have about 7 out of the 10 weeks to teach - to cover Form 4 Biology till Chapter 6 Nutrition; Form 3 Science til chapter 7 Electricity; and my favourite, Form 2 Math til .........*gosh, i can't remember, or maybe i am subconsciously suppressing the knowledge about it, haha*

alrightyz.. i am going to pengsan on the bed after one morning of driving and a day of walking here and there under the hot sun and then ended the day with Paulaner's friend from Netherlands. It's time to think about what to cook for tomorrow's lunch and dinner! ;)

it flew into the kitchen.

then it flew in and out of the living room. i thought it was gone.

i went in to my room and was shocked to see it lepak-ing in my room near the window.

so i started the battle against the giant killer bee with the Smack That song.....

it fainted on the floor. i tah-pau it in a plastic bag. then my housemate said, "eh, it won't bore a hole and escape, right?''

ok.. to make sure it's really dead and won't bore a hole to escape, she started to chop the plastic bag with a hand-held fan like she's chopping garlic.

I ordered nescafe susu one morning from the school canteen. While drinking it, suddenly i felt so jimo coz' i remembered all the fun i had during teaching practice in SA with my friends. Then one afternoon i went to eat pork noddle, then jimo-ness came again coz i remembered the times when Kokhow brought us to eat at Sun Sea, and Suitlin brought me to eat at one shop in Taman Bahagia. Sigh, jimo...

Schools dismisses at 11.15am on Fridays. So i went to the town with my housemate (this is the 3rd time within 5 days) to get some household stuff, groceries, to photostate some exercises and documents. to and fro usually takes about 30-40minutes, depends on the traffic. Yes, you can get traffic jammed in Lahad Datu.

The house looks slightly better. maybe perhaps i have adjusted a bit to that kind of condition but sometimes it still gives me the one-of-a-kind feeling.. eeeewww... They said put egg shells to con the stupid lizards. i am trying and waiting to see if it is successful.

God is good.

did i tell you, the guru kanan of Maths and Science department in my school looks like my ex-boss, Cheffrost? :p

just only checked my mail, saw Ben's email on Simplicity written by Ken Rockwell. and i thought of the pictures i took during the service last night. my baby canon's battery died, so i was back to using my faithful SE 770i. the noise is obvious, cameraphone la, what to expect. I have other carolling pics in baby canon but i don't think i have the time to go through them and copy to my laptop.

the huge luggage with its mouth wide opened is staring at me, waiting for me to fill it up and shut its mouth.

anyway, thanks for all the sayangs you all left on my FB. and the texts and the calls. they really helped to boost the excitement. do i sound excited?

i went to straighten my straight hair yesterday.
you know what, last time the tv always showed the Taiwan army shows... how the boys have to go for their national service, then they have to do the crew cut... sleep on bunk beds... wake up at the call of the siren..

and so, when the lady was trimming my hair.... i thought of those boys in the national service doing the crew cut.... cis... kanasai
i'm going for national service. thank God no need crew cut.
hope that there's no more bunk beds.
no call of siren except for the waktu Subuh, or fire drill in the middle of night.
but the sun comes out so much earlier there.

then last night before i dozed off... i thought of my PoT's ~ from Jonah to Nehemiah.

i couldn't help but thinking that God indeed has a really good sense of humour and an amazing skill of giving surprises to people. i did ask 'why God, why larrrr Saaaaabaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh...?'

i am praying that the internet there is ok. and Digi Yellow Man had better not fail me. and the government had better pay me well. :p

I have been using my camera phone quite a lot since i got it in March this year. Oh wells, it can be your best friend or your best enemy. Sometimes it can give you quite good pictures *of coz, some editing has to be done lar*. And i had a susah time editing the pics coz all the pics taken at night are soooo grainy. Some i just make it black and white je lar ... *_*

oh wellzzz.... but it's ok. *it's just a camera phone, jiaaaaa*

I slowed down and looked around.. expecting someone to come on a horse ... *geeee...*
There's no one... everywhere is green in colour, with nice blue sky... No one.

The horse cantered a bit. And I still heard someone calling my name.

i don't know whether i have found any peace there but at least i saw some of the reasons why there's no peace. and i guessed those reasons explain the chest pains. the deep breaths. the restlessness. the fear. the worries.
