Week 4 in school. thinking how to confuse the F1 kids with Addition and Subtraction of Integers. We have Friends & Enemies, Cats and Dogs, blah blah blah .. the classroom discourse was something like what you are about to read.... And all *blahblahblah* are monologues, okay?
eg: Talking about changing signs.... one kid proposed this method....9+(-3) = ?

Your friend's enemy is also your enemy. Therefore the equation becomes 9-3=6
so you have "your friend's friend is also your friend", "your enemy's enemy is your friend", "your enemy's friend is your enemy". *pengsan*

One dog will chase one cat. So, the three *crazy* dogs are busy chasing the three *crazy* cats. How many dogs left berlengang-lengang?

One friend will handle one enemy for you. So, the three friends will gao dim the three enemies for you. How many friends left standing there berlengang-lengang?

Then the kids went 'ohhh', 'ooooo', 'yeaaaahhhh, i got it'......
after looking at the questions in the textbook for sometime, a few girls came back and said,
"Teaaaaacherrrrrrr, i don't understand laaaaaaar..."
and the jiaaaaaa in me fainted. :p *failed wei me, failed!*
Then i came out with the i-owe-you-money to explain 5-10+2....
"You see, you only have rm5 and you want to buy a book that costs rm 10 from me. You paid all that you have. How much do you still owe me?"
"yeah... it's -5"
"yups, so... if your mum gave you rm2 this morning and you used that money to pay me back. How much do you still owe me?
"ohh... it's -2"
"yaa.. if you still can't see, draw the number line, k?" *draw the number lines, baby!*
"okay, Teacher."
Seriously, their smiles melt my heart. All of them. :)
Yeah, that's a little bit of what jiaaaaa does when she goes to the form 1 class. and by the way, today i had to see the kids for three hours in a day *FAINT* -- all 3 are relief periods. The teacher-in-charge was so good to let me enter my form 1 class to handle the relief periods. I went in to the class at 730-830, 12-1, 1-2pm. The moment I stepped into the class.. their eyes were like terbeliak and they went crazy 'begging' me..

Ok la.. then they started telling me that they have to do 5 times of correction for every wrong they got in the Sejarah paper. *a waste of paper and green ink and time* Pity them.. so i didn't telan the relief periods to teach maths. memang pun i gave them a lot of maths homework. School holiday is coming mah.. ;) and i memang generous in giving homework. *but i'm still not as hebat as ajw larrr*
That's about that for Maths.
Biology.. thinking how to make plants stuff such as Photosynthesis as interesting as the topic of Reproduction. *haha... what the crap*
Taught Biology for the first time yesterday. Realised that once i got excited i will tell Biology stories. Sheeeesh.. that's why lar i can't finish teaching Micronutrients. ok la, started the class late anyway. so it's not totally the fault of my biology stories. :p
Ok, it's bedtime. ;) let's see what happens tomorrow.
